Why are so many asthma drugs taken via an inhaler ?

The major advantage of taking asthma medication via an inhaler is that medication is delivered directly into the airways, where it is needed. Although asthma treatment can be administered in different ways; inhaled, orally or by injection, taking asthma medication via an inhaler is very well tolerated and the steroid dose inhaled is so low there are few side effects.

It is really important that you know how to use your inhaler properly otherwise you may not be getting the benefits of your medication.
